🎥 Lights, Camera, Podium! Pro-Tips for Your Winning Submission

Hey Builders,

We know your expertise usually lies behind the scenes of your code, but your demonstration video is what the judges will mostly rely on to score your project! It’s often the first (and sometimes only) thing the judges review.

Your video tells the story behind your project and showcases your talent to the world. Prep your elevator pitch and make sure it includes:

  • What sports or fan-engagement problem does your project address?

  • Which Google tools did you use? (Don't forget to highlight Gemini API and Cloud Deployment!)

  • A clear demo showing how real-world users will interact with and benefit from your solution.

  • How does your project meet the specific requirements?

đź’ˇ Pro-Tips

Keep these technical tips handy:

  • To keep costs down during development, use the free tier of Google AI Studio and Cloud Services. Be sure to set up budget alerts in your Google Cloud Console so you don't overspend your credits!

  • Judges need to see your code repository - so ensure it is public BEFORE the deadline.

  • Your video must be public but should be unlisted (on YouTube only) and—most importantly—under 3 minutes. Anything longer may not be viewed by the judges!

  • We highly encourage you to include a link to your working Project (web or mobile app, chrome extension, etc;). Make sure your URL is live when the judges click it.

⏱️ Time-Saving Tip

Write out your script and do a "practice heat" before you record. This ensures you cover every requirement within the time limit without stumbling.

🧊 Pro(crastinator) Tip

Don't wait until the final buzzer to upload! Depending on your connection and file size, uploading to YouTube or adding your video to your Devpost Submission can take anywhere from minutes to hours.

Submissions close May 11 at 5 PM PT—don't let a slow upload speed keep you out of the running.

We can’t wait to see your Projects!
